The light here is extraordinary, filtered through palm trees at golden hour, reflected on the white sand beaches, dancing on the water of the cenotes at midday. Every corner of this place has a quality that makes photographs look like they were made somewhere outside of time.
I’ve been documenting weddings in Tulum for years. I know Saasil Kantenah in the early morning before the guests arrive. I know how the jungle light falls at Kima and at Espacio Chechén in the late afternoon. I know when to be on the beach and when to find shade.

My Favorite Venues in Tulum
saasil Kantenah sits on one of the last truly private beaches in the Riviera Maya. There are no other guests, no distractions, just the sea, the sand, and the people you’ve chosen to be there.
I’ve photographed several weddings here. What stays with me is the light at sunset over the water, and the way the beach absorbs sound so that even a celebration of 100 people feels intimate. The Catholic chapel on the property is one of the most beautiful ceremony spaces I’ve worked in.
If you want a beach wedding with complete privacy and a setting that needs no decoration to be extraordinary, Saasil Kantenah is as good as it gets.

Kima is a world apart from the beach hotels. You enter through the jungle on a path lined with jasmine, and suddenly you’re in a private eco-sanctuary 5 minutes from central Tulum.
The light inside Kima is unlike anything on the coast, it filters through the canopy and creates a quality that I’ve never been able to replicate anywhere else. Couples who choose Kima usually want something bohemian and deeply natural, and that’s exactly what the setting gives you.

Espacio Chechén sits on the road to Cobá, surrounded by jungle so dense it feels like the rest of the world doesn’t exist. There are cenotes on the property, wooden decks overlooking the trees, and a quality of stillness that’s rare to find anywhere near a tourist destination.
I photographed Lexie & Justin here, and the image I keep coming back to is the two of them dancing on the circular wooden deck under the canopy of trees. That’s what Chechén does, it creates spaces that feel like they were designed for exactly one couple at exactly one moment.

Hi, I’m Antonio.
I’m based in Seville, Spain, and I’ve been photographing destination weddings in Tulum and across the Riviera Maya for years. I work with a small number of couples each season, enough to give every wedding the attention it deserves.
My approach is documentary. I don’t direct, I don’t pose, I observe. The best photographs from your wedding will be the ones nobody planned, the moment before the ceremony when you’re standing alone for the last time, the way your partner looks at you during the first dance when they think nobody is watching.
