TULUM wedding photographer in Riviera Maya – Photography in Mexico & Europe

Hi! I’m Antonio, a destination wedding photographer based in Mexico, and Tulum is the destination I feel most at home in.

Tulum is unlike anywhere else on the planet. The combination of Caribbean beach, Mayan jungle, cenotes and a bohemian spirit that resists the resort formula creates a visual world that is endlessly rich to photograph. The Hotel Zone runs along a narrow strip of coast inside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, keeping development contained and the natural environment overwhelming in the best possible way. The venue scene reflects that character: La Valisse and its boutique beachfront intimacy, the private jungle estate of Kima Tulum with its Glasshouse ceremony space and its string-lit courtyard, the off-grid organic sanctuary of Azulik with its handcrafted treehouse structures and sacred Domo ceremony space, Delek Beach Club on one of the most beautiful stretches of Hotel Zone coast, and cenote venues like Zamna Tulum, an eleven-hectare jungle estate centered on a natural cenote, that offer ceremony settings of absolute otherworldly beauty. Tulum also has its own international airport now, making it more accessible than ever for couples flying in from North America and Europe.

I specialize in blending editorial and documentary wedding photography, present throughout your day without ever getting in the way. I work both in digital and on film, and Tulum’s extraordinary Caribbean light, that particular quality that comes from white sand, turquoise water and jungle canopy all at once, is the most beautiful I have photographed anywhere in Mexico for analog photography.

Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony on a private beach, a cenote gathering surrounded by jungle, or a multi-day celebration at a luxury resort in the biosphere reserve, I’d be honored to be there with you.

A significant number of the couples I work with in Tulum fly in from the United States and Canada. Whether you’re coming from New York, Miami, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Toronto or Vancouver, Tulum International Airport now has direct connections from several major North American cities, and Cancún remains an easy alternative with transfers of around ninety minutes. I’m experienced in working with international couples and making the planning process as smooth as possible regardless of where you’re based.

TULUM on film — analog wedding photography

Tulum’s light is the reason I fell in love with shooting on film in Mexico. The combination of Caribbean turquoise, white sand and tropical canopy creates a quality of ambient light that wraps around everything, soft, warm and rich in a way that digital photography flattens. On film, the water deepens, the greens of the jungle become richer, and the warmth of the late afternoon on the beach takes on a texture that feels genuinely timeless. For a place with as much visual poetry as Tulum, film is simply the right medium.

For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.

I offer both fully analog collections and film add-ons to digital coverage. If you’re curious about incorporating film into your Tulum wedding, just mention it when you get in touch.

Where to get married in TULUM

Tulum has the most distinctive venue scene in Mexico. The combination of jungle, Caribbean coast, cenotes and the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve creates settings that exist nowhere else on earth, and the venues here have been built to honor that rather than override it.

La Valisse is one of the most intimate and design-conscious addresses on the Tulum Hotel Zone, a boutique property of just a handful of rooms set directly on the beach, with a refined aesthetic that balances Mexican craftsmanship with a contemporary editorial sensibility. The beachfront ceremony space, the private access to the Caribbean, and the deliberately small scale make it particularly well suited to elopements and intimate celebrations where atmosphere and detail matter more than capacity.

Kima Tulum is a private two-and-a-half-acre jungle estate five minutes south of the town center, built as a home before becoming a venue. The natural stone courtyard, the Glasshouse ceremony space, the jungle canopy and the string-lit reception area produce images of exceptional quality. I have photographed Tiff and Rob’s wedding here and the images from that evening remain among my favorites from any season.

Azulik is an experience unto itself, a collection of suspended jungle structures with no electricity, no screens, and a complete commitment to the sensory environment of the jungle and the Caribbean. Ceremonies here have a quality of immersion that no other venue in Tulum can match. The Domo ritual dome, the oceanfront decks and the elevated jungle nests create ceremony spaces of genuine spiritual depth.

Delek Beach Club sits on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Tulum Hotel Zone beach, with a beachfront setting that combines the relaxed energy of a beach club with genuine event infrastructure. The open-air spaces, the Caribbean backdrop and the quality of light at golden hour along this stretch of coast make it one of the most photogenic ceremony settings in Tulum. I have worked a wedding here and the combination of sea, sky and warm evening light produces images of exceptional quality.

Zamna Tulum is an eleven-hectare jungle estate centered on a natural cenote, with ceremony spaces that feel genuinely otherworldly. The cenote light, filtered through the jungle canopy and reflecting off the crystalline water below, is unlike anything I have photographed in any other setting.

Nomade Tulum and Papaya Playa Project are the defining boho-luxury addresses on the Hotel Zone beach, both with a strong design identity, beachfront ceremony spaces, and an atmosphere that captures everything people imagine when they picture a Tulum wedding.

For couples considering a cenote ceremony specifically, several private cenotes along the corridor can be arranged for exclusive use, offering complete privacy and the extraordinary visual quality of shooting inside a natural limestone cave.

If you’re still choosing between venues or comparing properties along the Hotel Zone, I’m happy to share what I know from having worked across the entire Tulum corridor.

Frequently asked questions

01.

How would you describe your approach to wedding photography?

My approach blends documentary and editorial instincts. For most of your day I stay invisible, capturing real moments as they unfold. During portraits I guide you gently, making sure you look and feel your best without spending too long away from your guests.

02.

Do you shoot on film in Tulum?

Yes, and I love it. The quality of Caribbean light in Tulum, that combination of turquoise water, white sand and jungle canopy, especially during golden hour on the beach or in the soft diffused light of a cenote, is exceptional for analog photography. I offer fully analog collections as well as film add-ons to digital coverage, just mention your interest when you get in touch.

03.

Can we meet or have a call before booking?

Absolutely. I’m always happy to jump on a video call to hear about your plans and answer any questions. It’s a great way to make sure we’re the right fit for each other before committing to anything.

04.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book around a year in advance, especially for peak season dates. I’d recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date in mind to check availability.

05.

When will we receive our photos?

You’ll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The full edited collection is delivered within two months.

06.

Do you travel for weddings outside Tulum?

Yes, I photograph weddings across Mexico, including Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, San Miguel de Allende and beyond. I’m also open to destinations outside Mexico.
