CANCÚN wedding photographer in Riviera Maya – Photography in Mexico & Europe
Hi! I’m Antonio, a destination wedding photographer based in Mexico, and Cancún is where many of the country’s most spectacular weddings happen.
Cancún needs no introduction. Mexico’s most iconic resort destination sits on the Yucatán Peninsula surrounded by the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean, and its Hotel Zone is home to some of the most impressive wedding venues in the country. From five-star beachfront resorts like Hyatt Ziva Cancún, NIZUC Resort & Spa, and Le Blanc Spa Resort, to intimate outdoor settings at venues like Azul Beach Resort, Hard Rock Hotel Cancún, and Moon Palace, the options here are extraordinary. Many couples also choose to venture beyond the Hotel Zone to nearby Puerto Morelos or Isla Mujeres for a more intimate feel, still within easy reach of Cancún’s international airport.
I specialize in blending editorial and documentary wedding photography, present throughout your day without ever getting in the way. I work both in digital and on film, and the quality of Caribbean light in Cancún, that deep blue water against white sand, the warm golden hours, translates beautifully to analog photography.
A significant number of the couples I work with in Cancún fly in from the United States and Canada. Whether you’re coming from New York, Miami, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Toronto, or Vancouver, Cancún is one of the easiest Mexican destinations to reach with direct flights from virtually every major North American city. I’m experienced in working with international couples and making the planning process as smooth as possible regardless of where you’re based.
Whether you’re planning an intimate beachfront ceremony for twenty guests or a grand multi-day celebration at a luxury resort, I’d be honored to be there with you.
CANCÚN on film — analog wedding photography
The Caribbean light in Cancún is extraordinary, rich, warm, and consistent in a way that few destinations match. On analog film, that light takes on a quality that feels timeless: the depth of the blue water, the warmth of golden hour on the beach, the glow of candlelight receptions. Film doesn’t try to make Cancún look better than it is, it simply lets it be exactly as beautiful as it already is.
For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.
I offer both fully analog collections and film add-ons to digital coverage. If you’re curious about incorporating film into your Cancún wedding, just mention it when you get in touch.
Where to get married in Cancún
Cancún concentrates some of the most impressive wedding infrastructure in all of Mexico. The Hotel Zone stretches along a narrow strip of land between the Caribbean and the Laguna Nichupté, and virtually every major property along it has been designed with large-scale celebrations in mind. But the area also has quieter, more intimate options for couples who want the convenience of Cancún without the resort atmosphere.
NIZUC Resort & Spa is the most refined address in Cancún, a secluded property at the southern end of the Hotel Zone built across a private peninsula. The architecture draws on Mayan influences, the grounds are immaculate, and the level of service is genuinely exceptional. It’s the natural choice for couples who want luxury without volume.
Hyatt Ziva Cancún sits at the northern tip of the Hotel Zone with panoramic ocean views on three sides. The rooftop chapel is one of the most photographed ceremony spaces in the destination, and the variety of indoor and outdoor event spaces makes it well suited to weddings of almost any size.
Le Blanc Spa Resort is an adults-only all-inclusive with a more intimate scale than most of its neighbors. The interiors are elegant and understated, and the beachfront setting produces exceptional light for both ceremony and reception photography.
Azul Beach Resort offers a more boutique experience within the broader Karisma portfolio, with a strong reputation for personalised wedding coordination and a setting that feels less corporate than the larger resorts.
Moon Palace is the choice for grand celebrations. The property is vast, the production capacity is unmatched in the destination, and couples who want a full multi-day experience for a large guest list will find everything they need under one roof.
Beyond the Hotel Zone, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres are both within easy reach of Cancún airport and offer a completely different character, smaller, quieter, and more personal, for couples who want the logistical convenience of Cancún with a more intimate atmosphere.
If you’re still deciding between venues, I’m happy to share what I know from having worked across the destination.

Frequently asked questions
01.
How would you describe your approach to wedding photography?
My approach blends documentary and editorial instincts. For most of your day I stay invisible, capturing real moments as they unfold. During portraits I guide you gently, making sure you look and feel your best without spending too long away from your guests.
02.
Do you shoot on film in Cancún?
Yes, and I love it. The quality of Caribbean light in Cancún is exceptional for analog photography — that deep turquoise water against white sand and the warmth of golden hour translate beautifully to film. I offer fully analog collections as well as film add-ons to digital coverage, just mention your interest when you get in touch.
03.
Can we meet or have a call before booking?
Absolutely. I’m always happy to jump on a video call to hear about your plans and answer any questions. It’s a great way to make sure we’re the right fit for each other before committing to anything.
04.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book around a year in advance, especially for peak season dates. I’d recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date in mind to check availability.
05.
When will we receive our photos?
You’ll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The full edited collection is delivered within two months.
