Your Wedding in Seville,
Photographed as It Truly Felt
I’m Antonio Ojeda, a destination wedding photographer based in Seville. I’ve spent over a decade photographing weddings in this city, and I know it the way only a local can: the light in every season, the venues that photograph beautifully, and how to make a couple from New York or London feel completely at ease on their wedding day in Spain.
Seville is one of the most extraordinary places in the world to get married. The light is golden, the architecture is unlike anywhere else in Europe, and the atmosphere of an Andalusian celebration is something your guests will talk about for years. But planning a wedding from abroad takes knowledge, contacts, and someone who genuinely understands both the city and the couples who come here from across the world.
This guide covers everything you need to know, from the best venues and planners to legal requirements and the right time of year. And if you’re still looking for a photographer who knows Seville as well as I do, I’d love to hear about your wedding.
Why Seville is One of Europe’s Most Beautiful Places to Get Married
The Light
As a photographer, I can tell you that Seville’s light is extraordinary. From the golden hour over the Guadalquivir to the filtered shade of a courtyard in the Barrio Santa Cruz, every corner of this city was made to be photographed. The Moorish architecture, the azulejo tiles, the orange trees in bloom, there is no backdrop more beautiful for a wedding photograph.
This is a city that has been photographing beautifully for centuries. And for a documentary photographer, there is nowhere I would rather work.
The Culture
Seville is the heart of Andalusia. Flamenco, feria, the smell of orange blossom in April, the city has a warmth and a passion that finds its way into every wedding I photograph here. Your guests will arrive as tourists and leave feeling like locals.
The Cuisine
A wedding in Seville is also a feast. Andalusian cuisine is among the finest in Spain: fresh seafood, jamón ibérico, local wines, and the kind of long, generous dinners that stretch past midnight. Your guests will not go hungry.
This city is pure magic. From the breathtaking Alcázar gardens to the elegant Casa de Pilatos, every corner of Seville provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding filled with emotion and beauty. With my experience capturing love stories in this enchanting city, I know how to make the most of its light, architecture, and unique ambiance. Whether you’re planning a grand celebration or an intimate elopement, I’ll be there to document every moment with an artistic, timeless, and editorial touch.
If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in Seville, let’s create something unforgettable together.
SEVILLE on film — analog wedding photography
Seville’s light has a quality I have not found replicated anywhere else in Europe. The golden hour over the Guadalquivir, the filtered shade of a courtyard in Santa Cruz, the warm stone of the haciendas in the countryside beyond the city, all of it carries a richness that analog film renders with extraordinary depth. The Moorish architecture, the azulejo tiles, the orange trees, on film they take on a texture that feels genuinely timeless rather than simply photographed.
For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.
I offer both fully analog collections and film add-ons to digital coverage. If you’re curious about incorporating film into your Seville wedding, just mention it when you get in touch.

Planning Your Seville Wedding:
The Essentials
Planning a destination wedding requires careful consideration of several key factors.
Here’s what you need to keep in mind when organizing your Seville wedding.
Getting Married in Spain as a Foreign Couple: What You Need to Know
Non-residents can legally marry in Spain, but the process requires planning and paperwork. Here is a general overview:
Civil ceremonies require both partners to present valid passports, birth certificates, proof of single status, and in some cases a certificate of no impediment from your home country. All documents need to be officially translated into Spanish and apostilled.
Religious ceremonies (Catholic) have their own set of requirements depending on your faith and home country.
The process can take several months, so start early, ideally at least six months before your wedding date. A local wedding planner or legal advisor who specialises in international marriages can make this process significantly easier. I work alongside several professionals in Seville who can help navigate this for you.
For the most current requirements, always check with the Spanish Civil Registry (Registro Civil) or your nearest Spanish consulate.
The Best Time of Year to Get Married in Seville
Seville has a Mediterranean climate, which means hot summers and mild winters. For a destination wedding, the ideal seasons are spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November).
April and May are particularly beautiful: the city is in full bloom, the temperatures are warm but not overwhelming, and the light is extraordinary for photography. October is also exceptional, with golden afternoon light and cooler evenings that make outdoor receptions genuinely comfortable.
If you’re marrying in July or August, be prepared for serious heat ,temperatures regularly exceed 40°C. Evening ceremonies are essential, and your guests will need guidance on how to dress and prepare.
From a photography perspective, I would always recommend spring or early autumn. The quality of light in Seville during those months is unlike anything I’ve experienced anywhere else in Europe.
Hiring a Local Wedding Planner
A local wedding planner can be invaluable in organizing a destination wedding. They have the expertise and local contacts necessary to ensure every detail is taken care of, from venue booking to vendor coordination. They can also help bridge any language barriers and provide insight into local customs and traditions.

How Much Does It Cost to Get Married in Seville?
It depends on the size and style of your wedding, but here is a realistic overview for international couples.
A mid-range wedding in Seville for 50 to 80 guests typically ranges from €20,000 to €50,000, covering venue hire, catering, flowers, music and coordination. A luxury wedding at a venue like Hotel Alfonso XIII or Villa Luisa can start from €60,000 and above.
Photography is one of the few investments from your wedding day that you will still have in twenty years. My packages for weddings in Seville start from €2,100.

Where to Get Married in Seville and Beyond
Hotel Alfonso XIII is the most iconic luxury address in Seville, a five-star palace hotel built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, with Mudejar courtyards, hand-painted azulejo tiles, and a level of grandeur that few hotels anywhere in Europe can match. For couples who want a wedding that feels unmistakably Sevillian, with full luxury hotel infrastructure for international guests, it is the natural choice.
Bellasombra House is a private estate just outside the city with a relaxed, garden-led character. The combination of mature trees, open lawns, and a more intimate scale than the grand haciendas makes it ideal for couples who want elegance without formality.
Hacienda La Soledad is a working olive estate with whitewashed walls, courtyards, and a quality of golden hour light across the olive groves that is genuinely extraordinary for photography. It carries the unhurried, deeply Andalusian atmosphere that international couples come to Seville specifically to find.
Cortijo el Trobal sits in the countryside south of the city, a traditional Andalusian farmhouse estate with whitewashed architecture, courtyards, and open fields beyond. It suits couples who want a genuine rural setting with the production capacity for a full celebration.
Hacienda Majaloba is one of the most photogenic estates near Seville, with a chapel, formal gardens, and an aesthetic that balances rustic Andalusian character with refined event infrastructure. I have photographed multiple weddings here and the light in the late afternoon, filtering through the gardens, is consistently extraordinary.
Castillo de la Monclova is a genuine medieval castle in the Sevillian countryside, with stone towers, a moat, and a sense of history that no modern venue can replicate. For couples who want their wedding to feel like a scene from another century, it is without question the most dramatic option near Seville.
Hacienda Villanueva del Pítamo combines a historic main house with extensive gardens and a chapel, set within the agricultural landscape outside the city. The scale suits larger celebrations while retaining a genuine sense of place.
Villaluisa is a private estate with a more contemporary garden design than the traditional haciendas, with manicured lawns and a refined, editorial aesthetic that photographs beautifully in both daylight and at golden hour.
If you’re still deciding between Seville’s historic centre and the countryside estates beyond it, I’m happy to share what I know from having worked at all of them.
