BAHAMAS wedding photographer in Riviera Maya – Photography in THE CARIBBEAN & Europe

Hi! I’m Antonio, a destination wedding photographer based in Europe and Mexico, and the Bahamas is one of the most visually extraordinary archipelagos I work in.

The Bahamas comprises more than seven hundred islands scattered across the western Atlantic between Florida and Cuba, and the quality of the water here is simply unlike anything else in the world. The colour comes from the shallow sand banks beneath the surface, the so-called Bahamian Banks, which reflect light back through the water in shades of turquoise, aquamarine and pale green that no filter and no editing can manufacture. Nassau and Paradise Island are the most accessible entry points, with non-stop flights from virtually every major city in the eastern United States and Canada. But the real magic of the Bahamas as a wedding destination lies in the Out Islands: Harbour Island with its pink sand beach, Eleuthera with its extraordinary Glass Window Bridge where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean, the Exumas with their swimming pigs and their crystal-clear tidal pools, and the private island properties that offer a level of seclusion that is genuinely impossible to find anywhere else in the Caribbean.

The venue scene covers the full spectrum from grand resort infrastructure to complete private island buyout. Atlantis on Paradise Island has the scale and the production capacity for large international celebrations. The Ocean Club, a Four Seasons Resort, has the elegance and the historical character for couples who want something more refined. Rosewood Baha Mar combines contemporary luxury with beachfront access and exceptional event coordination. And beyond Nassau, the Out Island properties, Valentines Resort on Harbour Island, Grand Isle Resort on Great Exuma, Kamalame Cay on Andros, offer a level of intimacy and natural beauty that no resort in the Bahamas can replicate.

I specialize in blending editorial and documentary wedding photography, present throughout your day without ever getting in the way. I work both in digital and on film, and the Caribbean light of the Bahamas, that extraordinary combination of white sand, shallow turquoise water and open Atlantic sky, is among the most beautiful I have photographed anywhere in the world for analog photography.

Whether you’re planning an intimate beach ceremony on a private island or a grand multi-day celebration at one of Nassau’s flagship properties, I’d be honored to be there with you.

BAHAMAS on film — analog wedding photography

The light in the Bahamas has a quality I have not encountered anywhere else. The shallow water of the Banks creates a luminosity that is almost blinding at midday and turns to pure gold at the end of the afternoon. On analog film, that translates into images of extraordinary clarity and warmth. The turquoise deepens, the whites of the sand glow, and the late afternoon light on the beach takes on a texture that feels genuinely otherworldly. For a place with as much natural beauty as the Bahamas, film is simply the right medium.

For me, film isn’t a stylistic choice made for trends, it’s a deliberate creative decision. The slower pace it demands, the intentionality it requires, produces images that feel crafted rather than captured. Images that age beautifully.

I offer both fully analog collections and film add-ons to digital coverage. If you’re curious about incorporating film into your Bahamas wedding, just mention it when you get in touch.

Where to get married in THE BAHAMAS

The Bahamas offers one of the most varied wedding venue landscapes in the Caribbean, from the grand resort infrastructure of Nassau and Paradise Island to the extraordinary seclusion of the Out Islands.

The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort on Paradise Island is the most elegant address in the Bahamas, a historic property set around Versailles-inspired gardens with a beachfront setting of exceptional refinement. The ceremony spaces, from the clifftop gazebo to the garden terraces and the beach, produce images of extraordinary elegance. For couples who want classic luxury with genuine historical character, it is the natural choice in Nassau.

Rosewood Baha Mar is the newest and most contemporary of the major Nassau properties, a large-scale resort with a strong design identity, multiple event spaces, and direct access to one of the longest stretches of beach on New Providence. The level of event coordination here is exceptional for large international celebrations.

Atlantis Paradise Island has the production capacity and the variety of spaces for truly grand celebrations, with multiple venue options across the property ranging from intimate garden settings to large ballrooms and beachfront terraces. It suits couples planning large multi-day events for international guest lists.

Kamalame Cay on Andros Island is one of the most beautiful private island resorts in the Caribbean, a collection of cottages and villas on a private cay surrounded by the third largest barrier reef in the world. The scale is deliberately intimate and the seclusion is absolute. It is the natural choice for couples who want a Bahamas wedding that feels genuinely removed from the world.

Valentines Resort on Harbour Island sits steps from the famous pink sand beach, one of the most extraordinary natural phenomena in the Caribbean. The combination of pastel colonial architecture, pink sand and turquoise water produces images unlike anything possible anywhere else in the Bahamas.

Grand Isle Resort on Great Exuma offers villa-style accommodation on one of the most beautiful islands in the Out Islands chain, with the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park nearby and the extraordinary tidal pools and sandbars of the Exumas available for creative portrait sessions that are genuinely unlike anything possible anywhere else in the world.

If you’re still choosing between Nassau and the Out Islands, or deciding which island best suits your celebration, I’m happy to share what I know from having worked across the archipelago.

Frequently asked questions

01.

How would you describe your approach to wedding photography?

My approach blends documentary and editorial instincts. For most of your day I stay invisible, capturing real moments as they unfold. During portraits I guide you gently, making sure you look and feel your best without spending too long away from your guests.

02.

Do you shoot on film in the Bahamas?

Yes, and I love it. The quality of light in the Bahamas, that extraordinary combination of shallow turquoise water, white sand and open Atlantic sky, is among the most beautiful I have photographed anywhere in the world for analog photography. I offer fully analog collections as well as film add-ons to digital coverage, just mention your interest when you get in touch.

03.

Can we meet or have a call before booking?

Absolutely. I’m always happy to jump on a video call to hear about your plans and answer any questions. It’s a great way to make sure we’re the right fit for each other before committing to anything.

04.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book around a year in advance, especially for peak season dates. I’d recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date in mind to check availability.

05.

When will we receive our photos?

You’ll receive a preview gallery within 48 hours of your wedding. The full edited collection is delivered within two months.

06.

Do you travel for weddings outside the Bahamas?

Yes, I photograph weddings across Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe, including Tulum, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, the Maldives, Italy, Spain and beyond. I’m always open to new destinations.
