Wedding at Finca Monasterio · Kiki & Abel

The wedding at Finca Monasterio I had photographed before had shown me what this venue could do in summer. Kiki and Abel showed me what it becomes in November.

Finca Monasterio sits on the coast of Cádiz near Sotogrande, with gardens, historic architecture and that particular quality of autumn light in the south of Spain that turns everything amber and warm. November here is extraordinary, the leaves changing colour, the air cool and clear, the light low and directional all day.

Kiki and Abel came from the Netherlands to get married here, bringing with them the particular energy of a couple who had chosen their venue carefully and knew exactly what they wanted.

Wedding at Finca Monasterio · The Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the gardens, surrounded by golden leaves and the warmth of family and friends who had travelled to be there. That is what a destination wedding requires of the people who love you: they have to actually want to come. The guests at Kiki and Abel’s wedding clearly did.

The reception continued into the evening with the kind of atmosphere that happens when a group of people who love each other are given a beautiful place and enough time to enjoy it. Laughter, dancing and the happiness of two people at the beginning of something.

A Destination Wedding in the South of Spain

If you are planning a destination wedding in Spain, Finca Monasterio in Sotogrande is one of the venues I would always recommend without hesitation. And if you want to see more from this location, you can find another full wedding story in the Finca Monasterio portfolio.

If you are considering Sotogrande or the Costa del Sol for your wedding, take a look at my work as a Marbella wedding photographer for more context on how I work in this part of Andalusia.
