Wedding at Espacio Chechén · Lexie & Justin

Wedding at Espacio Chechén begins on the road to Cobá, surrounded by jungle so dense it feels like the rest of the world doesn’t exist. There are cenotes on the property, wooden decks overlooking the trees, and a quality of stillness that’s rare to find anywhere near a tourist destination.

Lexie and Justin chose this place because they wanted something that felt completely their own, far from the beach resorts, deep in the Mayan jungle, with just the people they loved most around them.

The ceremony took place on the circular wooden deck under the canopy of trees. The light filtered through the jungle in that particular way it does at Chechén in the late afternoon, soft, warm and full of colour. It’s one of the most photographically extraordinary places I’ve worked in Tulum.

A Wedding at Espacio Chechén

After the ceremony the celebration opened up across the property, the gardens, the cenote, the long dinner tables set between the trees. Every corner of Chechén offered something different to photograph, and by the end of the night I had images from that day that I still come back to.

If you’re planning a wedding at Espacio Chechén or anywhere in Tulum, I’d love to hear about it.
